Climate Active Organisation

Independently certified carbon neutral since 2020 and holding active status every year since.

Hesperia holds Climate Active certification for its entire business operations, a rigorous Australian Government-backed standard that requires organisations to measure, reduce and offset their emissions using a credible, transparent methodology. We were among the first property developers in Western Australia to achieve this certification, and we maintain it through annual reporting and independent verification. It reflects our belief that the journey to zero carbon shouldn’t wait for 2030 or 2050, but can and should begin now.

B Corp Certification

Western Australia’s first property group to earn B Corp certification, setting a new benchmark for responsible business in the sector.

B Corp certification is one of the most rigorous and respected business standards in the world, assessing a company’s impact on its workers, communities, customers and the environment. Hesperia earned certification in 2021 with an overall B Impact score of 101.4, well above the median of 50.9 for businesses that complete the assessment. Certified B Corporations are legally and structurally accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, making the certification a meaningful signal of how we operate, not just what we aspire to.

World Green Building Council Net Zero Buildings Commitment

A public pledge to decarbonise every building we develop, signed at COP26 in Glasgow.

Hesperia became a signatory to the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment in November 2021, joining a global cohort of built environment leaders committed to eliminating carbon from their portfolios. The Commitment requires us to operate all buildings under our control as net zero, maximise embodied carbon reductions across construction, and publicly disclose our progress through annual ESG reporting. Our pledge covers both operational and embodied emissions, reflecting the whole-of-lifecycle approach we take to every Hesperia project.

Net Zero Action Award

Recognised nationally for our commitment to decarbonising the built environment.

In 2022, Hesperia was recognised at the 33rd Banksia National Sustainability Awards with the Net Zero Action Award. Presented by the Banksia Foundation, Australia’s longest-running and most prestigious sustainability awards programme, the award acknowledges organisations driving comprehensive net zero action across their operations. For Hesperia, this recognition reflected years of concrete progress, including achieving carbon neutral certification, developing low-carbon construction materials, and embedding net zero targets across every project in our portfolio.
