Kenwick Intermodal Terminal Officially Opens

The Kenwick Intermodal Terminal was officially opened this week, marking a significant step towards more efficient and sustainable operation of Perth’s freight and logistics network.

The $25m terminal was developed in conjunction with Hesperia’s multi-award-winning Roe Highway Logistics Park (ROE), which is on track to become the state’s first net-zero industrial estate.

Hesperia Director Judd Dyer said the Kenwick Intermodal Terminal would significantly improve the efficiency of Western Australia’s rail freight supply chain and more importantly reduce the volume of trucks heading to and from Fremantle Port, with approximately 200,000 containers passing through the terminal each year.

“Our vision for Roe Highway Logistics Park has always been to create an industrial hub with unmatched connectivity and benchmarking sustainability for the industry. The opening of the intermodal terminal is another step forward in realising this vision.” Mr Dyer said.

“This development will increase our tenants’ operational efficiency and contribute significantly towards the area’s economic growth.”

ROE boasts WA’s first 6 Star Green Star facility and is on track for WA’s second 6 Star Green Star facility at the new Silk warehouse, abutting the new intermodal terminal.

The final rail-sided lot within ROE is now available for lease. Spanning 21,000sqm and targeting another Green Star rating, this warehouse offers a rare opportunity for businesses to secure a position in one of Perth’s most connected industrial precincts.

Hesperia looks forward to welcoming new businesses and seeing this facility’s impact on the region’s logistics landscape.
