Topping Out celebrated at Murdoch Square

Hesperia and Aegis Health celebrated the topping out milestone at Murdoch Square alongside the Minister for Health and Mental Health the Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson.

The $450 million, 1.2-hectare development is the first stage of the State Government’s plan to transform the area into the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct. The precinct will become the southern corridor’s home to health research and medical care, delivering significant economic benefits to Western Australia.

Hesperia’s Development Director for Murdoch Square Ian Smyth said, this is a fantastic moment for our whole team, who have worked hard in complex conditions to reach topping out.

“The collaboration between Multiplex, Aegis Health and Hesperia and our design partner Hassell will deliver a new benchmark for innovative mixed-use developments across Australia.

“As we progress with internal fit-out and external façade installation it’s exciting to see the development starting to come to life. We are all looking forward seeing patients, visitors, healthcare workers and the wider community accessing our purpose-built town square,” Ian said.

Murdoch Square will incorporate Western Australia’s first purpose built medi-hotel, a private hospital, urgent care clinic, aged-care facility, childcare centre, and hospitality venues. Five buildings converge to create a central town square for the local community, visitors, patients, and healthcare workers to access and enjoy.

Murdoch Square is scheduled for completion in late 2023, with Multiplex progressing with the internal and external fit-out across the site. Once completed, the Murdoch Activity Centre, including the Murdoch Square development will provide 35,000 jobs and education facilities for 44,000 students, with more than 100,000 daily visitors.
